Lake Powell, located in Utah, is one of the largest man-made lakes in the world. With its gigantic narrow canyon walls, 1000-year old Anasazi ruins and smooth water, it is the perfect place for a high-speed super boat race. Unfortunately, the Utah State Police don't agree.

- The dam shown in Hydro Thunder Hurricane is a reference to the Hoover Dam although it isn't located in Lake Powell in real life. In realty, it is located on the Arizona-Nevada state line on the Colorado River.
- There is a ranger's boat, who would tell you to pull over.
- The shortcut shows a canal full of abandoned boats.
